Answers to common questions from notaries considering working with USA
Notary Services.
Application review typically takes 5-10 business days, depending
on background check completion and reference verification. We
review all applications carefully to ensure applicants meet our
standards.
We accept notaries commissioned in any state that has authorized
Remote Online Notarization. Requirements vary by state, so during
the application process we verify that your state authorizes RON
and that you meet your state's specific requirements.
Onboarding typically takes 1-3 days after approval. This includes
platform training, compliance review, and a practice session. Once
onboarding is complete, you can begin accepting assignments or
bringing clients to the platform.
Subscriber notaries bring their own clients and use our platform
to perform notarizations. They control their pricing and bill
clients directly. Contractor notaries receive job assignments from
our title company and legal clients, follow our workflows, and are
paid directly by USA Notary Services. Both models require
professionalism and compliance, but have different operational
structures.
Work volume varies significantly based on client demand, your
availability, and your engagement model. Contractor notaries
should not expect guaranteed minimum volume. Subscriber notaries'
volume depends entirely on the clients they bring. We cannot
guarantee specific workload levels, but we do our best to
distribute assignments fairly among available contractor notaries.
Yes. All notaries working with us must maintain current errors and
omissions (E&O) insurance as required by their state or as a
condition of performing RON. You are responsible for maintaining
adequate coverage throughout your engagement.
We conduct regular performance reviews. If issues arise, we
provide feedback and an opportunity to improve. Notaries who
consistently fail to meet standards may be removed from the
network. We take quality seriously because our clients depend on
reliable service.
Subscriber notaries generally have more flexibility. Contractor
notaries should discuss any potential conflicts during onboarding.
We expect reliability and responsiveness during your committed
availability windows, regardless of other engagements.
You are. As a commissioned notary, you are responsible for knowing
and following all applicable laws in your state, including
RON-specific requirements. We provide tools and guidance, but
ultimate legal responsibility for each notarial act rests with the
notary who performs it.
We provide technical support for platform-related issues,
including connectivity problems, session troubleshooting, and
document management questions. Support is available during
business hours with emergency support for critical issues.
